Crimson Life Coffee was created by the Chrzan family out of love for the Honduran the Copan region in western Honduras.
have any luxuries, so extras things like candy, toy cars, and balloons are very special to them. The people there were very loving and inviting; many asked us into their homes to eat with them and pray for their families. People who have so little were so willing to give much to strangers whom they have never seen.
The local pastor was currently living, with his wife and five children, in a lean-to connected to the back wall of the church. One purpose for our visit was to help plan out the construction for his new home next to the church building. It was being built of dried mud-and-straw bricks, just as the Israelites had used for construction back in ancient Egypt.
That evening we attended service at the newly built church. The one room was lit by a single Coleman lantern hanging from the rafters; the women and children sat on a variety of chairs and benches in the sanctuary while the men listened and watched through the windows and doorways.
Pastor Guy Henry, leader of Plan Escalon, had only recently helped establish this church in the remote mountain village. He led the service and put on a small play depicting the story of David and Goliath. He spoke to the people and explained the plan of salvation and what great things God can do for you if you let him into your life. Many people stepped forward that night to accept Christ and, because we came to them, they heard God's message. That was an awesome feeling.
We later learned that very few Americans had ever made it into that village. The weather was relentless, as rain was always a constant factor, making traveling very slow and muddy - however, spirits were always high, especially when you can see God's hand working in such glorious ways.
